Daily exercise is a must for living a healthy life. Physical exercise strengthens muscles and also acts as body immune system booster.

Our body needs exercise. We face many health problems because of our sedentary lifestyles. Many of us get very less physical activity during our regular 9 to 5 business. We need to formulate separate exercise routine to be fit.
Physical activity is a must to enhance or maintain physical fitness and overall wellness. It is performed for many different reasons. But physical fitness is our main concern here.
Some of the benefits of exercise are-

- Prevention/improvement of diseases like high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes etc.

The emphasis is on regular exercise. Most of us start earnestly but become irregular after a few days. They find many excuses for not doing. You tend to think 'Heavens are not going to fall if I don't exercise one day. I will compensate tomorrow.' But that tomorrow comes and goes, with you postponing again. You need to set long term goals and your ultimate aim is self improvement.
You may go to a gym or have some exercising equipment at home or opt for simpler ones like walking, jogging, cycling. Adopt a routine that suits your age, body structure and present health condition. Most importantly, stick to it.
You can add another dimension to your physical fitness by adopting Yoga.
Yoga is an ancient scientific system of practice involving body, mind and spirit. 'Yoga-asanas' is one of the 8 limbs or stages of Yoga. Where as gymnastics are limited to the physical body, Yoga-asanas involve both body and mind.

It is preferable to practice yoga-asanas with the help of an experienced teacher affiliated to a reputed yoga institute. Use books and videos to supplement your training.
